In language, students wrote a paragraph imagining what robots might be able to do in the future.  We read a poem that used both senses and exaggeration to create excitement.  In media, we reflected on how TV shows, movies, and videos use music to make the audience feel different emotions.  In math, we started a probability unit which evaluates the chance that an event will happen using the words impossible, unlikely, likely, and certain.  We used dice to test different probabilities and used tree diagrams to model the number of possible outcomes in different scenarios.  We also determined the mean (average) of different data sets.  In social studies, we learned people from France settled near the St. Lawrence River in the 1600s and were involved in the fur-trading business.  We also learned that people came to Canada from Ireland to escape a famine in the 1840s.
