In reading, we discussed different decoding strategies, such as using illustrations and letter sounds.  We responded to books by sharing what we liked/disliked and any questions we had.  In writing, we wrote sentences about ourselves and read them to the class to learn more about each other.  In math, we represented numbers using words and pictures, and compared two numbers.  In social studies, we completed a booklet about Ontario’s climate, wildlife, plants, and cities.  In health, we reviewed that washing our hands, and coughing or sneezing into our sleeve or tissue, helps us stay healthy.  After listening to “The Dot” by Peter Reynolds, students used positive and negative space to create two dot designs.
