In language, we practiced using clues from the text, and our own personal knowledge, to make inferences from a story.  We also identified rhyming patterns, nouns, and verbs in a spring poem.  Students made a great effort using quotation marks when they wrote a short story with dialogue.  In media, we reflected on the importance of signs, since they tell us rules, give direction, and keep us safe.  In math, we interpreted information in bar graphs and pictographs.  We also sorted shapes using a Venn Diagram and identified the “mode” (or the most repeated items) in a set of data.  In social studies, we read information about the founding people of Canada (Indigenous peoples of Canada, French and British).  We also discussed what life was like for early settler children and compared it to our present day lives.  In art, we created a landscape by only using lines.
